-Sunnite: they represent the major part of the Muslims, 90%. Sunnah, means '' habbit '', '' tradition ''. The difference between both groups is the question brought up in the origins: if Muhammad could be inherited or not. Sunnites believe that this succession is not possible, and that the community has to be administered by a caliph, chosen by the consensus of the community.


-Shiism: They believe that Muhammad, being the last one and the only thing of the prophets, established a successor, an 'imam', who is that one who can interpret the Koran suitably.

The shiism established the passion and the suffering as a means of salvation.
